General Nursing and Midwifery is a three year full time regular diploma programme. Nursing is an integral part of healthcare industry.

The programme comprises of focus on prevention of diseases, rehabilitation and maintaining good health of patients, medical technicalities, Critical conditions, Behavioural Science, Midwifery and Gynaecology, Community health, Paediatric Nursing etc. at advanced level.

After successful completion of the course, candidates may register themselves as registered nurse or midwife with state nurse registration council. They can work in various fields such as Hospitals (Govt. & Private ), Community Centres (PHC / CHC), Clinical OPD, Industries, Rehabilitation Centres, Schools, Training schools (As a demonstrator), Military (as a military nursing officer), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Nursing Department), Nursing Tutors, ICU Nurse, Staff Nurse etc. One can pursue career in academics also in the Nursing Colleges.
